Annual Salary:                   $89,845 to $98,176

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, Recreation Director is responsible to the general and financial management of the Department including, Parks, Recreation Facilities, Recreation Services and Cemetery in alignment with the strategic vision of the Corporation and Council. The position oversees parks, indoor and outdoor recreation facilities, and the Cemetery. Major responsibilities include community engagement and provision of services and programming, maintenance/operations, and service level definition.

The main duties and responsibilities of the position are in the areas of department administration functions, strategic/service planning, and community engagement and committee coordination.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Sports Administration or related discipline
• Certified Recreation Facilities Professional Designation is an asset
• Ten (10) years of management experience in municipal parks and recreation environment
• Valid Class "G" Ontario driver's license and ability and willingness to travel within and outside the community as required.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities in both French and English
