A not-for-profit, the Northeast Community Network (NeCN) exists to inspire and help all communities in
Northeastern Ontario to thrive. Our purpose is to make an impact that matters. We work collaboratively to
find imaginative ways to build upon four economic pillars: forestry, mining, agriculture, and tourism. Our
goal is to ensure economic sustainability in support of community growth and affordability.

What will your typical day look like?
You will report to the NeCN Executive Committee on the following:
• Research solutions, frameworks and methodologies to address specific project needs
• Use analytics to identify issues and prioritize response
• Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis to solve complex challenges
• Manage and deliver projects on time and on budget
• Develop effective relationships with a wide array of stakeholders
• Create, publish, and present content for consumption by Board and other audiences
• Effectively manage and successfully deliver per the Three-Year Workplan

Your experience and abilities
• Undergrad in economic development, business, public administration, urban planning, or related field
(Degree is an asset)
• 7-10 years of progressive experience in economic or business development
• Minimum 5 years in a leadership role
• Experience in one or all core sectors: forestry, mining, agriculture, and/or tourism
• Expertise in grant writing and funding acquisition
• Strong background in stakeholder engagement with established network of contacts
• Highly developed political acuity, tact and discretion to manage challenging issues
• Can leverage research/analytical techniques to synthesize organizational requirements
• Outstanding presentation skills for any target audience
• Knowledge and awareness of Indigenous history, culture, treaties and relevant issues including the
intersect of the Crown's legal duty to consult, Indigenous and Treaty rights
• Calm and productive while working in a fluid and evolving environment
• Fluent in both French and English languages, proficiency in an Indigenous language (asset)

Total Rewards
The salary range for this position is $79,000 to $87,500, plus 12% in lieu of benefits, offering a
