Cardiology Technologist

Temporary full-time position for a 1-year term with the possibility of extension

Salary ranges from $32.95 to $37.94 per hour

Percentage in lieu of benefits

Key Responsibilities

·         Conducts diagnostic test: Electrocardiogram (ECG), Holter Monitoring and, stress testing, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and scanning.

·         Must have knowledge in all principles and protocols of test and is able to react to emergency situations.

·         Able to detect abnormalities in Cardiology test and promptly reports them to the physician.

·         Organizes and maintains patient profiles and records. Organizes scheduling of departmental testing.

·         Performs maintenance on all equipment as per operation manuals and keeps up-to-date records.

·         Attend cardiac arrests.

·         Maintains strict confidentiality of all patient information.

·         Provides ongoing inservice on electrocardiograph and related subjects to members of the health care team as approved by the Manager of Respiratory Therapy & EGC.

·         Demonstrates, participates adheres and contributes to a healthy safety culture on a daily basis.

Qualifications

·         Must have completed a Cardiology Technologist Program approved by the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologist and successfully pass the competency exam.

·         Must maintain current certification with Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologist and participate in the continuing education program to maintain the appropriate credits required.

·         Membership through the Ontario Society of Cardiology Technologists and the Ontario Society Technologists is mandatory.

·         Must have the ability to provide services in French and English.
