Licensed Mechanic

Location: Kirkland Lake Gold – Detour Mine Site

Report To: Site Services Supervisor

Employment: Full-time position with 2 weeks in/2 weeks out or 1 week in/ 1 week out at a remote site rotation.

DCS Services LP is a member of the Moose Cree Group of Companies and is presently working as the contractor for Kirkland Lake Gold –Detour Mine, site service contract, and Water Wastewater contract, north of Cochrane Ontario. DCS Services LP is looking for a Mechanic and/or combination of Mechanic/Apprentices.

Job Description: As a member of the DCS Site Services mechanical team, the successful candidates will be responsible to perform specific duties such as: maintenance on heavy equipment, trucks and light vehicles. He will also be ask to do some minor repairs. This position could involve manual labor and can be physically demanding.

Requirements and Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have:

• An acceptable combination of education and experience.

• Ability to follow work instruction and work safely with minimum Supervision.  

• Valid driver’s license

• MTCU surface miner registration is an asset.

• Experience working with Aboriginal communities is an asset.

• Red seal Mechanic preferred

Salary: Salary will be based on qualifications and experience as per DCS Policies.
